FAQ

What is telehealth?

Telehealth is a secure, convenient, and easy way to do therapy from the comfort of your own space. You will receive a secure email or text link to join the virtual session room. You can view sessions via laptop, iPad, or phone.

You’ll need a good Internet connection, headphones, a quiet place for the session, and a working camera on your device. Virtual sessions allow for real-time conversations with your therapist.

Is it confidential?
Yes! Sessions occur through HIPPA-compliant software which is completely secure and confidential.
How long are the sessions?
Sessions are 60 minutes for the initial and 50 minutes after that.
Do you take insurance?

I am insurance friendly and am happy to provide superbills for reimbursement from your insurance company and walk you through this process.

I currently work directly with Cigna only as an insurance provider.

Do you have any packages for services?

Yes! Please call or email me for package details, and I am happy to offer therapy in a package that makes sense for you.

What is a free consultation?

A free consultation is a time for you and me to talk and get a feel for each other. You can also ask any questions about the process and let me know what you want from therapy.

How do I set up an initial appointment?

Call me today at (443) 386-0048 or send me a message at the bottom of this page with your contact information, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

What is your cancellation policy?
There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. You will receive an email reminder before each session. Providing notice well in advance allows me to open your slot to other clients who may need the time. I will charge you the total amount if you miss the cancellation window or do not attend the session.
With whom do you work?
I work with young adults and adults, usually 18 and up. However, I feel the right clients will find me, so I am flexible if working together is a good fit.
What do you do in sessions with a client?
We start with where you are and initially discuss what you would like to get out of our time together in therapy. Some clients need more supportive therapy, while others are more goal focused. We will get to know each other and make a plan that works best for you. It’s not a one-size-fits-all, and it is not the same for every client.
What modalities do you use?
Based on research, outcomes are similar with each modality. I will get to know you, what works best for you, and your preferences. Generally speaking, I work using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based therapy, and mindfulness. The trusting relationship we cultivate is the best indicator of positive outcomes.
If I work with you, do I have to do anything with energy psychology?
No way! This time is for you, and you can choose what suits you. I offer this service for clients that want to explore and resolve unconscious behavior patterns in a more experiential format outside of talk therapy. If this is not for you, feel free to pass!
How much of me do you see in telehealth?
It’s ok if you’re asking for a friend. 😊 We can see each other from about the chest up, depending on how far back you sit. Pajamas are ok! But I always recommend pants.
What is your favorite snowball flavor?
As Marylanders, we all know the importance of this question (haha). As adventurous as I am, my favorite snowball flavor is plain grape – no marshmallow. I grew up eating them, so it’s nostalgic! I can’t wait to hear yours!
